The cosy and child-friendly holiday park De Blauwe Lantaarn is located in Wateren, near Diever, Dwingeloo and Appelscha. From Wateren, you have the opportunity for a number of fun outings and you can take a lovely bike ride or walk through the surroundings. The bungalow is located on a holidaypark and is surrounded by forest, heathland, recreational lakes and charming little towns. Relax and enjoy the surroundings. Sports lovers can go hiking, biking, horseback riding, swimming and mountainbiking. At the park there are diverse playgrounds, a sports field, canteen and 2 outside pools. During the main season is a recreational team available, which organises activities for young and old. In the surroundings there are many things to do. The surrounding towns organize lots of summer activities.

Location and surroundings
The Drents-Friese Wold is the second largest continuous forest area in the Netherlands after the Veluwe. The nature reserve is known for its many hiking and cycling routes, as well as adventurous mountain bike trails and opportunities for covered wagon rides. Around Wateren you will find nice trips and many attractions: for example, visit the Miramar Sea Museum, the Drents Museum or enjoy a wellness break at Sauna Het Friese Woud. For a wonderful day out (with your children) you can visit the ancient dolmens in Havelte or Attractiepark Duinen Zathe. Would you like a day of shopping or a terrace? Then you are in the right place in Steenwijk or Assen.
