Facilities
Location and surroundings
Weesp is a relatively small fortified town enclosed between the Amsterdam-Rhine Canal and the Vecht. Take a cruise with the Fire Line across the Vecht to Fort Uitermeer and explore the historic center with no fewer than 200 monuments. Weesp is rightly called 'Little Amsterdam'. In Weesp you can go for all your daily groceries, but you can also enjoy shopping there. De Vecht is largely known for its rich history. Van de Vecht was assumed to be a tributary of the Rhine and to run east around the city of Utrecht. Nowadays the Vecht starts at the Weersluis in Utrecht and flows into the IJsselmeer where the Zuiderzee used to be.
