From the park, you can visit the beach and nature in, for example, Zuid-Kennemerland National Park, or the hustle and bustle of one of the cities. Think of the cheese market in Alkmaar, wandering around Haarlem or one of the many attractions in Amsterdam. Fun trips for the whole family include Artis, Snowplanet and the Zaanse Schans.

Close to the largest fishing port in the Netherlands is Velsen-Zuid: a North-Holland village near the coast and in between Castricum and Haarlem (both pleasant and historical recommendations). There is also plenty to do in the area: take a picture in traditional costume in Volendam, visit the Zaanse Schans or go to the famous cheese market in Alkmaar on Friday. Of course, you can also spend a day in Amsterdam, where shopping, strolling along the canals or visiting the Rijksmuseum and the Anne Frank House are a great day out. And for nature lovers, National Park Zuid-Kennemerland is an absolute must: here you can enjoy all the beautiful dunes, forests and beaches to your heart's content.
