Near Schoorl are the highest dunes in the Netherlands and you will find the famous climbing dune, under which cosy terraces provide the necessary rest after the climb. In addition, the nearby town of Alkmaar hosts its famous cheese market every Friday and the town of Bergen also organises cosy craft and art markets in the summer.
