From the holiday home you can sail straight into the village canal or you can walk straight into the village along the canal. You can rent a boat or supboard from the owners with which you can explore the village from the water in no time, don't forget the nearby lakes like the Bovenwiede, Beulakerwiede or the Belterwiede. Giethoorn is situated in the middle of National Park Weerribben-Wieden, which is known for its various lakes, ditches, reed beds and swamp forests. This area is rich in various species of animals and plants. To get away from it all, you can visit the towns of Steenwijk and Meppel, where you can go shopping or sit down at one of the cosy pavement cafes.
