According to many, the area around the Bergumermeer is the most beautiful in Friesland. The area east and northeast of the Bergumermeer forms the core area of the National Landscape The Northern Frisian Woods. Nowhere else will you find so many different landscapes at such a small distance. For a fun day out, there are many possibilities: pay a visit to Aqua Zoo or chameleon village Terherne. Or maybe you would like to learn all about the wooden shoe? Then there is the clog museum in Noordbergum. Are you more interested in shipping? Then visit the Skûtsjemuseum in Eernewoude.
