Charming 4 person vacation home located in Austerlitz in the middle of the Utrecht Ridge

This four-person vacation home is located in the picturesque village of Austerlitz, in the middle of the Utrecht Hills. The charming house is part of a larger property that has been converted and renovated into three independent houses, of which this is the middle one. Austerlitz, a paradise for hikers and cyclists, offers beautiful forests and historical sites such as the Pyramid of Austerlitz. Activities and attractions near Austerlitz include the cultural cities of Utrecht and Amersfoort, with numerous museums, stores and restaurants waiting to be discovered. This vacation home offers an ideal mix of nature, relaxation and culture for a wide audience.

Layout

The cozy living room features a seating area with a wood-burning stove and a smart TV with the streaming service Netflix. The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge freezer, a combination microwave, a dishwasher, a kettle and a coffee maker. The bedroom on the second floor has a double bed and a built-in closet. The study has a loft accessible via a safe ladder, where there is sleeping space for two people. The bathroom has a sink, a toilet and a shower. In addition, there is a separate toilet on the first floor. French doors in the living room give access to the terrace and the south-facing garden beyond. The first floor has underfloor heating in both the living room and the kitchen. The house is connected to a heat pump and fully insulated to modern standards.

Location and surroundings

Austerlitz, Utrecht

Austerlitz's history dates back to 1804. It was in this year that a French general had a pyramid built there as a tribute to Napoleon Bonaparte. Located at the highest point of the Utrecht Hill Ridge, the pyramid is still a crowd-puller today. The surroundings are perfect for taking a beautiful walk or cycle ride through heathland, forest and in the adjacent river country. Fun attractions for a day out include Soestdijk Palace, Amerongen Castle and the National Military Museum.
